Hand-crafted interiors

that honor the unique story

of your home and family

A bathroom with floral wallpaper, a large wooden-framed mirror, a white sink with a brass faucet, a hanging wall lamp with a pleated off-white shade, a small vase with greenery, and a knit towel draped over the sink edge.
A cozy kitchen with white brick walls, a window with a natural-colored shade, and a marble countertop. A dark wood table with a floral centerpiece and apples, a wooden cabinet with mirrors, a modern chandelier, and a rug complete the space.

Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and working throughout the Triangle and beyond, Jo Lyle & Co. brings timeless character to every project. From thoughtfully renovating historic homes to adding depth and warmth to new builds, we specialize in full-service interior design that is creatively driven, thoughtfully crafted, and uniquely personal.

“Jo is the best! She transformed my kitchen and made my Pinterest dreams into a reality. I have worked with a handful of designers, and more than any other, I felt Jo successfully got inside my head and took the time to understand my vision and taste. She listened to my concerns and provided functional solutions that are also beautiful. She is creative and artistic, but also manages the business side and execution perfectly. I hope to work with Jo again on future projects.”

“We had an incredibly positive experience working with Johanna on our house renovation adventure! Johanna worked with us on every single room of our 1886 Victorian home over an 18-month period including a complete primary bathroom remodel. She has a true love of older homes and oversaw every detail of our project from the development of the vision boards and room design plans to sourcing furniture, unique decorative elements and light fixtures to managing the installations and budget. She has that rare combination of creativity and project management skills. All the contractors she engaged were top notch including the wallpaper hangers, general contractor, carpenters, window treatment designers, upholsterers, and artists. She suggested design elements we would have never thought of, such as a hand painted mural in our sun room. She was respectful of and open to ideas to trim our budget on particular items or rooms, and we always found a way to stay on budget and achieve our design goals! When we are ready for future renovation projects, we have no doubt who to call!”

“Jo is an amazing designer and partner especially if working with a designer is a new experience for you. We took our kitchen and family room down to the studs and she helped us build a home that we will love forever. She held our hand through budgeting, picking a contractor, figuring out what my design style even is, to overseeing and supporting the GC thru construction. I never want to do another kitchen remodel... but if I did do another project, you can bet that Jo would be the first person I called to help me design it.”
