Libertyville First Floor Remodel
The kitchen in the Libertyville, IL home was small, awkward, and nothing the clients wanted to be in. A cooktop dominated a small island, soffits crowded the cabinets, and the whole layout felt off. We reworked everything; moved the stove off the island, rebalanced the footprint, and brought in a true counter-depth fridge to maintain walkway space in a tight footprint. The result is functional, better proportioned, and actually reflects how they live. The mudroom had the same problem: tiny square footage, too many jobs. We made it work harder without making it feel cramped. Down the hall, we shifted the front closet and powder bath forward slightly to carve out space for a dark olive built-in cabinet that serves as a family tech and organization center. It's one of those moves that solves a problem while adding character. This project is straightforward — no dramatic before-and-after story, just a first floor that finally works the way it should. Sometimes that's exactly what a house needs.
